Legal Requirements (UK Compliance)
If your system contains fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-Gases)—like many split-type units—you must comply with the following under UK law:
F-Gas Regulations (EU/UK 517/2014)
Systems containing over 5 tonnes COâ‚‚ equivalent of F-Gas require:

All work must be carried out by REFCOM-certified engineers
TM44 Energy Efficiency Assessments
If your system has a combined output over 12kW, a TM44 inspection is required every 5 years. This assesses energy performance and recommends improvements.
